1. Balsareny Castle

As an example of Catalan civil Gothic, the Castle of Balsareny stands out. We are talking about a pentagonal castle, with a central courtyard and stairs leading to its entrance. A clear representation of 14th century architecture. Next to the castle, there is a small hermitage with a semicircular base from the 12th century, which was enlarged during the Baroque period. Currently the castle has a lot of tourist activity as it allows to see the plains of Bages, Montserrat and part of the Pyrenees. But its main attraction is that during the tour there is a theatrical representation of its history and construction. Located just 30 minutes from Barcelona and Tarragona, this viewpoint is multifaceted, offering an experience of connection with nature, culture and the history of the wine landscape. This beautiful viewpoint near Terrassa, is located in a small village called Ullastrell. A natural spot that offers the best photographs of the Vallès Occidental, the Baix Llobregat and a beautiful image of the mountain of Montserrat. A 360 degree view that you can not miss if you are near Terrassa.

4. Tibidabo viewpoint

Although it is already a classic, it could not be missing in our list of the best viewpoints in Catalonia. To begin with, we must point out that the Tibidabo mountain (with its 512 meters), is considered the highest natural peak of the city of Barcelona. At the same time, this place is famous for the amusement park it has had since 1901, which you can access and enjoy an incredible day of adventure at the top of the Catalan capital. So, apart from enjoying the attractions, there are many curious people who come to Tibidabo (with its many options to access: by private transport, bus or funicular) to spend a quiet and pleasant time, while having a drink in one of the bars that we find above, and enjoy the views from the incredible viewpoint at the top of the mountain. 5. The Morro de l'Abella

If you are in the province of Barcelona, do not hesitate to visit Tavertet. This charming village is known for its stoned streets and houses (characteristic of medieval times) and for being one of the best preserved villages in Catalonia. From this incredible natural spot, you can see the steep and vertiginous image of the Collsacabra cliffs and dazzling views of the Sau reservoir.

Undoubtedly, a place full of history and amazing views. But if any viewpoint stands out above the rest, this is undoubtedly the Morro de l’Abella: from a stone that protrudes above the Pantà de Sau, you can enjoy a magical setting that more and more people know.

Getting here is very easy, as you only have to park your vehicle in a dirt parking lot located on the side of the road (before reaching Tavertet), and walk a maximum of 5 minutes along a narrow path until you reach the spectacular views of this famous viewpoint.

6. Boixadors Castle

The second castle that we talk about in this list is the Boixadors Castle. As its name indicates, this castle belonged to the Foixá-Boixadors lineage, who maintained their dominion until the 19th century. A medieval complex restored in the 70s, which today is still under restoration and is considered one of the most important historical heritages of Catalonia. Apart from its cultural legacy, this term offers beautiful views of the region of l’ Anoia and the plateau of Calaf, which you can not miss. 7. Viewpoint of the Ter

We arrived at one of the viewpoints with the best views in Osona (by the way, if you have not yet seen our routes through Osona, you should take a look because you can’t miss it). The Ter viewpoint does not have an ideal or precise route to get there, but it is so irresistible that it is impossible to pass it. From this place you will be able to enjoy a true photographic experience surrounded by nature and tranquility.

And if you want to complement this visit with a more cultural agenda, very close to this is the Monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres. One of the most emblematic buildings of the Catalan Romanesque, which also enjoys fabulous views. 8. Pedraforca
