Still looking for things to visited outside of the city once you’ve seen the best things to do in Barcelona?
At Willy’s plan we have an incredible route through Sant Feliu de Codines one of the villages with more natural charm that you can imagine and undoubtedly one of our recommended places to visit in the region of the Vallés Oriental.
In this plan that takes us to a route from Parc Usart a Sant Miquel del Fai, we will know 2 nature reserves (one of the most important in Catalonia) and 1 a charming village that represents the true Catalan culture.
For this tour, we recommend you to bring something to eat and a couple of drinks, pack a swimsuit, as we may come across a swimsuit along the way and of course wear comfortable clothes and sneakers to enjoy without any discomfort.
We will start our tour in the village of Sant Feliu de Codines, where we will walk through the most emblematic streets, visit historical monuments and enjoy a breakfast in the best Catalan style. We will then embark on the adventure to the Parc Usartwhere we will spend part of the afternoon, enjoying its attractions and leisure plans for the whole family. To end up in the most captivating natural reserve of Sant Feliu de Codines: Sant Miquel del Fai. Here we will let ourselves be carried away by nature and we will forget about any worries, we will not eat a delicious sandwich and we will make a spectacular bike route, we just have fun.
Sant Feliu de Codines
Sant Feliu de Codines is the town preferred by the people of Barcelona to take their vacations, this is due to a warm climate that accompanies it most of the year. If there is something you can not miss in this town are the routes and mountain sports, the offer is incredible. In addition to seeing the places of historical interest (of which there are usually many) and their fascinating works of architecture.
In the midst of buttresses surrounded by nature, all the beauty of this small village in Catalonia stands out. If there is something you can not miss, is hiking in this area, they are usually exceptional, ask for some routes and immerse yourself in the adventure.
Parc Usart
Only one kilometer away from Sant Feliu de Codines, on the road to Sant Feliu de Codines. Sant Miquel de Fai road, we arrive at Usart Park. A natural space with only a century of inauguration and which receives its name thanks to its founder Nicolás Usart. This park is incredible, just to tell you that there are two constructions designed by the very same Antoni Gaudí. Inside the park there is a gazebo with chairs, recreational areas and rest areas that focus on spectacular views of the Vallés Oriental.
As the story goes, this park was built as a recreational site for Barcelona families who had built their summer houses in the town and were looking for new leisure alternatives during their stays. For this reason, some collective funds were collected from these families and with the help of their founder, they created what is today one of the most important tourist sites in the country. Sant Feliu de Codines.
The best of this route that takes us to the Parc Usart, is that we can do it on foot or by bicycle, since the trails leading to the park are easily accessible and allow us to enjoy its beautiful natural environment.
Sant Miquel del Fai
Sant Miquel del Fai is a natural area of high heritage and landscape value for Catalonia. Its 70.5 hectares are surrounded by the greatest natural wealth and the most beautiful landscapes you can imagine.
The water in this beautiful natural site comes from the rivers Rossinyol and Tenes. So the fun is provided by incredible waterfalls, small ponds, curious caves and the occasional rock formation.
The historical route through Sant Miquel del Fai includes emblematic places for the history of Catalonia, so it is important to visit most of them in order to be clearer about the history and culture of this park.
In this third and last stop of our Willy’s plan, we recommend you to get on your bike, rather than walking. Although both options are very entertaining, it is true that the park is very large and we would like you to take full advantage of it. We also recommend that the snacks that you have prepared, you destine them for this place, so at the end of the tour you can enjoy them, while admiring the beautiful scenery’.
