Monestir de l'Estany
Considered one of the jewels of the Catalan Romanesque, the Monestir de L’Estany was one of the main residences of the Augustinian monks and in 1939 was declared a historic-artistic monument of Spain.
Located more than a thousand meters above sea level and surrounded by mountains, this monastery is composed of a church, a cloister and a small abbey built much later. The church of Santa Maria de l’Estany is the most outstanding construction of this architectural ensemble and is a clear example of the Romanesque constructions built during the 12th century.

Serreta Viewpoint

The Puig de la Caritat is located at an altitude of 1,010 meters and is one more mountain in the municipality of L’Estany. This summit is easily accessible and is an ideal place for hiking with children and the whole family. In this vertex there are many options of routes that can be done throughout the day, it’s just a matter of choosing the activity that you like and dare to climb to the top.
The road to Puig de la Caritat is full of small and beautiful villages with unique medieval architecture. If you dare you can visit some of them, as well as we recommend you to taste some typical dishes of this region.
