Private tours in Barcelona: what you need to know before booking

All Willy's Plan tours are 100% private: your group is the only group. No strangers, no waiting for anyone, no audio guides. The guide adapts the pace, stops, and depth of the tour to whatever your group wants at any moment.

All our guides hold official qualifications from the Generalitat de Catalunya. This is not a marketing claim: it is a legal accreditation that requires specific training, exams, and official licensing. It means your tour guide truly knows Barcelona and can answer any question.

Each guided tour lasts 3 hours. All private tours are booked directly through the tour page itself — with no intermediaries or extra fees. Free cancellation is available on most tours up to 72 hours in advance.

Types of private tours in Barcelona: find the tour that suits you best

focuses on the building and its symbolism; the Modernism Tour extends the route to the entire Catalan Modernist movement, going beyond Gaudí. If you want the best of both worlds, it's best to combine them on different days.

For history buffs, the Gothic Quarter Tour offers 2,000

Prices for our private tours in Barcelona

Unlike group tours, on Willy's Plan private tours you pay for the group, not per person: a flat rate split among all participants. The more of you there are, the cheaper it gets per person — and the guide remains exclusively yours.

For 4 or more people, the cost per person is €70, which is the minimum price per person — it doesn't go any lower than that. You will find the exact breakdown on the booking details of each tour.

Bookings are made directly through Fareharbor, with no intermediaries. There are no additional commissions or hidden fees.

Visit the must-see monuments and sights of Barcelona with a private guide

Barcelona is home to some of the most visited monuments in the world — and most visitors see them from the outside, without context, in the middle of a crowd. A private guide doesn't just take you to the sites: they explain why they are important, what lies behind each facade, and what anyone visiting without knowing their history is missing out on.

Guided tours in Barcelona for families, groups, and companies

Families with children: since it is private, the guide adapts the level of explanation and the pace of the group right from the start. There is no need to wait for others or adjust to a pace that doesn't suit you. The most recommended tours for families are the Welcome Tour and the Gothic Quarter Tour — short, visually rich routes with plenty of accessible history. If you are coming with young children, please let us know when booking.

Large groups: there is no strict capacity limit. Beyond a certain number of people, we assign additional guides to maintain the quality of the experience. Weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, family reunions, school trips — you will see this on the booking form or you can contact us directly.

Corporate groups and team building: Willy's Plan private tours adapt to corporate groups looking for a different cultural activity — whether as a team-building exercise, a program for international visitors, or as part of a congress or event in Barcelona. Contact us and we will design the route according to your needs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about private tours in Barcelona

What training do Willy's Plan tour guides have?

All of our guides hold the 'Títol de Guia de Turisme de Catalunya' (Catalonia Tourist Guide License), issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya. It is the official qualification required by law to work as a tour guide in Catalonia: it requires formal training in history, heritage, tourism legislation, and languages, plus a licensing exam. It is not a company certificate or an online course — it is a state-issued qualification with an official exam.

You will see this at the time of booking: each tour indicates the capacity and available group options. For large groups, we assign additional guides to maintain the quality of the experience.

Each tour's itinerary has a set structure, but since it is private, the guide can adjust the pace, delve deeper into the topics that interest you most, and skip what doesn't. If you have very specific interests — modernist architecture, gastronomy, photography, political history — you can let us know when booking and the guide will keep it in mind from the very start.

It depends on the tour. The Gothic Quarter Tour includes admission to the Cathedral. The rest are walking tours of the exterior and public spaces of each neighborhood, with no additional tickets included. For the Sagrada Família Tour, travelers must book their own ticket to the interior separately — this tour includes the guide and the explanation, not the admission ticket. Each tour page specifies what is and isn't included.

Most tours take place in Barcelona's Old Town, which has uneven pavement, cobblestones, and some sections with steps. If anyone in your group has reduced mobility, please let us know when booking: the guide will adapt the route to avoid the less accessible sections without missing out on the essentials. For specific cases, contact us before booking and we will advise you.

Most tours allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. Some tours with included tickets or special conditions have a 48-hour policy. The exact conditions for each tour are detailed on its booking page, before you enter any payment details.

Of course. Many travelers book the Welcome Tour upon arrival and a more specific guided tour — Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Família, Gaudí — later in their stay. We can help you organize a complete itinerary with several private tours over multiple days.

Directly from the booking button on each tour page, through our Fareharbor system. You can also contact us via WhatsApp if you have any questions before booking — we'll recommend the guided tour that best suits your group.
