Welcome to one of the most spectacular and popular routes for tourists in Catalonia, and certainly a must if you are looking for what to see in Campdevànol. For this tour, we will go into this same municipality, belonging to the region of Ripollès, and, of course, one of the improvements routes to do in the province of Girona. A village recognized by lovers of hiking, and amateurs to go out to discover routes and excursions in Catalonia. And of course, refresh yourself in one of the many Gorgs available in this autonomous region.

So we wanted to design a fantastic route based on these 7 “Gorgs” or 7 waterfalls in Catalonia, where you can stop to cool off and enjoy beautiful views during the summer.
If you venture to do the famous Ruta dels 7 Gorgs, you should know that you have 10km ahead of you (which is about 3 hours approximately) and of easy difficulty (since the path is quite flat, although there are 978 meters of unevenness).
How to get there?
La Ruta dels 7 Gorgs, is located on the outskirts of the village of Campdevànol. That is why we advise you to reach the beginning of this route in your own vehicle, as it is a bit far from the center. Above we have left the access to the parking lot of the route, located next to the road so that you do not pass it (which happens a lot as it is somewhat hidden in a curve). As a hint, the access to the parking lot is located right next to the Pirinenc Campsitewith a sign at the entrance that says “Font del Querol”.
Even so, to leave your vehicle, you have three options:
The first option is to leave your car in the parking lot located near the beginning of the route. This parking is paid and has a cost of 10€ (which you will have to pay in cash to the security guy at the top of the parking lot). Once I let you pass, you will have to go down until you reach a dirt road where you can leave the car.
The second option, (also quite common), is to leave the car in the industrial park that we find coming from the village on the right hand side. This polygon contains two or three factories and many daring people decide to leave their vehicles and walk to the beginning of the route on foot along the side of the road (from this polygon to the beginning of the route there is only 1 kilometer).
The third and last option is indeed to leave the vehicle in the village of Campdevánol, and walk to the 7 Gorgs on foot: Walking we have a half hour (30 minutes), since there are 2.6 km separating one place from another.
Once we have left the vehicle safely, the route begins in the parking of the 7 Gorgs, where on one side we have on the left hand side an open field with picnic tables and fireplaces to eat, and on the right hand side a path that leads us to the hut where we must pay 5 € to do the route (this fee will be paid from June 10 to September 30, ie in summer). There you will be given a bracelet, and you will be asked to sign a paper agreeing to the rules of no littering, no smoking, no fires and dogs on a leash.
So, to do the route, we recommend you to bring good tracking shoes, swimsuit, water (because there is no store along the way, except at the end) and a snack or two for the road. Otherwise, you just have to focus on enjoying the nature and beauty of the place.
Gorg de la Cabana
This Gorg has a very complicated access and the descent is a bit steep, so we recommend being very careful when walking and it is much better to see it from above. Being the first of this tour, you will be impressed with the perfect union between water and the torrent.
Gorg de la Tosca
It is the most beautiful of all and perhaps the one that drops the most water, so in this one we recommend you to cool off for a while. Of course, the water is really cold, but it is worth it. In winter it does not usually fall as much water, but being one of the highest, it is always admired.
Gorg de l'Olla
This waterfall is relatively small and its shape makes it a perfect swimming hole, even somewhat deep. We dare say that its name comes from our description.
Gorg de la Bauma
This waterfall is best viewed from the right side to fully appreciate it, and its access is a bit steep, so like the first Gorg, we recommend viewing it from above.
Gorg del Forat
The Gorg del Forat is perfect to stay a long time enjoying the bath, besides being spacious allows you to swim a little more and get carried away by the small waterfall.
Gorg del Petit Colomer
This is the most scenic waterfall of the entire route, in addition to enjoying a good swim you can enjoy the best landscapes of this route.
Gorg del Colomer
To finish our route through the most beautiful waterfalls in Catalonia, we arrive at the Gorg del Colomer. This last jump is imposing and we chose it for the end because it is the one that best allows us to take a break and spend some time. This particular waterfall in winter usually freezes completely and some curious people dare to walk it, while in summer it is the most recommended to take the best bath.
