In this Willy’s plan, we designed a route from restaurant the viewpoint of the Llac to Camping la NogueraWe are thinking of a quiet weekend afternoon (from lunch at noon, to go to sleep), to take it relaxing and be ready to enjoy the scenery and beautiful views towards the lands of Lleida.
To begin with, we will have lunch at the Mirador del Llac Restaurant. Unquestionably on the terrace, which offers excellent views of the Pantà de Sant Llorenç de Montgai. By the way, in this swamp, you can perform water activities in summer period as: Kayaking, Rafting or Diving.
Then we will go to the Mare de Déu del Castell Chapel. This small castle is located at the top of the swamp and is easily accessible by car, motorcycle, bike or even on foot. From this point, we will enjoy incredible views of the reservoir and its surroundings.
Finally, we suggest you to stay at the Camping “La Noguera”, which has different accommodations. In this hostel we can find from bungalows for families to romantic tents for couples. It also includes restaurant service and invites you to enjoy a great number of activities of all kinds.
Restaurant Mirador del Llac
It is unforgivable to be in the Restaurant Mirador del Llac and not enjoy its terrace, which undoubtedly offers one of the best views of the Sant Llorenç de Montgai reservoir and the waters of the Serge. And as a curious fact, this restaurant is located in one of the protected natural areas in Camarasa, which makes it even more appealing.
In addition, this exquisite Mediterranean restaurant offers a good gastronomic proposal in terms of quality and price and a wide menu characteristic of Catalan food. If you decide to visit this restaurant we recommend the “cargols a la llauna” and the sandwiches are incredible. And of course, enjoy it without any worries, this route is to be enjoyed in its entirety.
Mare de Déu del Castell Chapel
The Ermita Mare de Déu del Castell is a castle built in the Islamic era, its main ideal was to dominate and have control over the vast territory of the Sierra de San Cristobal and its surroundings. Although the construction remains deteriorated in parts, most of it can be appreciated. Over time this church honored the virgin of the castle and is still a meeting point for many parishioners of the town who still go to her spiritual encounter.
In this beautiful place we will enjoy privileged views of the region of Noguera and the waters of the Serge. And it is right here where we will take out the camera or cell phone to leave the best memory of the landscapes and nature that Sant Llorenç De Montgai offers. Undoubtedly a wonderful place, which brings together history and all the natural charm to disconnect in the middle of a beautiful sunset of our route.
Camping la Noguera
Our last stop will be at the camping La Noguera . An incredible place to camp with the family in front of the lake reserve of Sant Llorens de Montgai and enjoy all the cultural and natural wealth of the Montgai area.
If anything characterizes Camping la Noguera is its tranquility. Here the disconnection is absolute and we would dare to say that it is one of the most beautiful places in the Montsec. If you do not have your own tent, you will have no problem. In addition to offering incredible accommodations ranging from bungalows for the whole family, to romantic tents for couples; the campground also offers tents for those looking for more economical plans. And if we talk about the restaurant, it is amazing and offers almost 24 hours service. And if you are looking for leisure plans, don’t forget to ask about the activities that usually take place around the reserve, ranging from walking tours to fun water sports.
