Gothic in style, but there are exceptions. The best example is the Cathedral of Santa Creu i Santa Eulalia. Its impressive facade full of details and its 70-meter high dome have become the iconic of this area.<\/p><p>From the Placita de la Seu, you can listen to street musicians before climbing the main staircase and discovering the interior. There you will also find the crypt with the tomb of Saint Eulalia, the choir stalls and the cloister with its 13 geese.<\/p><p><strong>Legend of Saint Eulalia and the 13 geese<\/strong><\/p><p>Saint Eulalia, patron saint of Barcelona, shepherded geese in Sarri\u00e1. After refusing to renounce her Christian faith, she suffered 13 martyrdoms, one for each year of her life. The 13 geese commemorate her sacrifice.<\/p><p>Bonus tip: to get the best views of the Cathedral, you can visit the rooftop of the Hotel Col\u00f3n. On its first floor is the famous restaurant Els Quatre Gats. This tavern was built at the end of the 19th century by the textile family Mart\u00ed Puig, and is inspired by the Parisian cabaret Le Chat Noir, so it became a meeting point for the intellectuals of Barcelona.<\/p><p>Even Pablo Picasso used to frequent this place during his stay in the city. Today, the restaurant is still in operation and offers a renewed menu of dishes and tapas typical of Catalan gastronomy. It is not inexpensive, but its historical value justifies indulging
