This time we are going to one of the most remote but fascinating municipalities of Catalonia. Pont de Vilomara<\/strong> is a village in the region of Bages<\/strong>.<\/p>

This region is known for having the best natural and historical places and we highly recommend if you have already seen the best\u00a0things to do in Barcelona city.<\/a><\/p>

The plan that we propose is in the small village of “Pont de Vilomara” and <\/strong>its surroundings. On this trip we will visit the sites of Pont de Vilomara, Tines d’en Bleda and Castell de Rocafort<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the beginning of the route we find the Pont de Vilomara<\/strong>. This bridge was the old royal road that connected the Bages area with Barcino. was built in the 13th century and today is considered “Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia”.<\/p>\n

We continue visiting the Tines d’en Bleda<\/strong>. Constructions made of unique stones that were used for the elaboration of wine and the preservation of the harvests.<\/p>\n

Finally we conclude the journey, visiting the Castell de Rocafort<\/strong>. A castle dating back to 909 A.D. and now in ruins. From the peat bog where it is located, you can appreciate incredible views, ideal for relaxing and resting after finishing our route.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Pont de Vilomara or <\/strong>Vilamora bridge, <\/strong>is known for crossing the Llobregat river that leads to the royal road and connects the regions of Bages and Barcino. The story goes that this bridge was initially made of wood until it became one of the most emblematic pre-Romanesque structures in Catalonia. This stone construction is about 130 meters high and was initially called Villa Amara, which means “submerged city”.<\/p>\n

It is currently “Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia” and although it is not preserved in perfect condition, it is still a very important tourist spot for the town and is constantly visited by many tourists and locals.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Tines d’en Bleda or Flequer bathtubs <\/strong>are a group of bathtubs located near the Flequer river<\/strong>. Each is a circular design and has its own hut. These are built of stone, lime mortar and are lined with ceramics on the inside.<\/p>\n

If you are one of the most curious and let your imagination run wild, you can recreate these tubs in their heyday. To give you an idea, here the grapes were trodden, while the broth fell into the lower tank, where the wine was fermented and deposited.<\/p>\n

During the tour it is very likely that we will find more sets of tubs, as they were very characteristic of the area and will most likely have many similarities with these.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The castle of Rocafort <\/strong>was built to cover the village of the same name as a fortress. Although its remains are preserved on the small hill where it was built, it is still a very important building for the history and culture of Bages.<\/p>\n

According to history, this place was acquired by the Counts Sunyer and Riquilda, who were in charge of finishing its construction and managed to inhabit it for a long period of time. But it was later when it was actually named the “strong castle”, thanks to some deeds that were recovered by the people and was named property of the same.<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly a building that marked the history of this charming village of Catalonia and the place where our little route through the village of Pont de Vilomara ends.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
