Route from the Castell d’Eramprunyà to the Ermita de la Trinitat (Trinity Chapel)

Have you ever visited the province of Barcelona? You must know that you are missing out on a spectacular region, you would not be able to imagine all the plans there are to do and the versatility of landscapes you can find along the way.

This time we want to unite the best of two regions: Garraf and Baix Llobregat . In a route that will take you to know the best places of historical interest and will invite you to a well deserved rest by one of the most luxurious coasts of Catalonia. A plan that leaves no doubt that there are many incredible things to do and visit in Barcelona Province.

Summer is approaching… and at Willy’s plan we know it. For this reason, we have prepared an original plan for you, so that you don’t stay at home and enjoy a whole day of adventure.

For this route we propose a picnic, so it would be ideal to bring enough food and drink, plus comfortable clothes and shoes to enjoy the route, otherwise do not worry, we are sure you will enjoy the tour.

Our first stop is the Castell d’Eramprunyà. This castle was built during the 10th century and, being located in Gavà, it has been declared a “Bien de Interés Cultural” (Cultural Interest Asset). It was part of the defensive system of the border between Al-Andalus and the Carolingian Empire. And the most incredible thing is that from the top of it, you can appreciate the views of the Llobregat Delta and part of the Garraf.

The second place is the Cala Morisca. In this magnificent and quiet cove of Sitges, you will be able to do nudism, you will have a bar or beach bar to have a drink and you can also enjoy the spectacular panoramic sea views, surrounded by mountains and nature.

Finally, we will visit the Ermita de la Trinitat, just to end the day in style. Since this hermitage is located 7 minutes from the Cala Morisca and offers a spectacular sunset from its quiet and romantic viewpoint overlooking the sea.

Eramprunyà Castle

The Castell d’Eramprunyà is a medieval building located in Gavà, but at the same time away from the urban core. This building is more than 400 meters above the cliff of the Garraf massif.

After several centuries after its construction, this building still manages to remain standing and overlooks the best views of the valleys of the Llobregat Delta. The first indications of its construction date back to the year 957, when it is shown that it was in the hands of the Counts of Barcelona.

It is currently under restoration, but it does not mean that you can not visit it, usually the second Sunday of each month the city council of Gavà allows both tourists and locals to make a guided tour of this place.

Morisca Cove

To give all the freshness of summer to our route, we decided on one of the most daring coves around Sitges, Cala Morisca . If you dare in this beach you can do nudism and enjoy one of the naturist coves of the natural park of Garraf. This cove has private parking, so you can arrive by car without any problem.

In Cala Morisca you will have a large terrace at your disposal overlooking a cliff overlooking the sea where you can enjoy a delicious menu and a pleasant company. The beach bar in front of the beach is perfect to spend the day, enjoy some delicious tapas and a drink or two.

The best thing is that if you do not want to spend on either of these two proposals, you can also enjoy without complications an incredible day at the beach in one of the most beautiful coves in Sitges.

La Trinitat Hermitage

To finish our route, we will climb to the top. The La Trinitat Hermitage in Sitges, represents the importance of religion for the culture and development of the people of Catalonia, so this church belongs to the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia and is protected as a cultural asset of Local Interest; very important reasons to be included in our plan.

Its design is of popular architecture and is documented since 1375 and the story goes that it was built after having found an imposing cross with the image of the holy trinity and for this reason it bears its name. Today the building is much more modern than it was at the beginning, but it is still beautiful and very special for the inhabitants of Sitges, who want to continue preserving it as well as possible.
